Your Whole Project, Run by One Contractor.
Additions, gut renovations, structural work and everything that has to happen in the right order — permits to punch list, managed by the crew that actually does the building. Serving homeowners across Greater Boston.
Why Monteiro
The People Who Quote It Are the People Who Build It.
A lot of general contractors are brokers — they win the job and hand it to whoever is available that week. We run our own crews, so the person who walked your house is the person on site, and there is one number to call when you have a question.
Licensed and insured in Massachusetts, working across Greater Boston since our first job here.

How A Project Runs
Six Phases, In This Order.
-
Walkthrough & Scope
We look at the actual conditions, talk through what you want, and flag anything structural or code-related before numbers get attached.
-
Estimate & Contract
An itemized written estimate — scope, materials, allowances and timeline in plain English. Nothing starts until you have signed it.
-
Permits & Scheduling
We file with the building department, order long-lead materials, and give you a start date with the phases mapped out.
-
Demolition & Rough-In
Protection goes down, demo happens, then framing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC rough-in — with inspections booked at each stage.
-
Finishes
Insulation, drywall, trim, cabinets, tile, floors and paint, in the order that keeps the finished work from getting damaged.
-
Walkthrough & Warranty
We walk the job with you, fix everything on your list, haul the debris, and hand over the warranty in writing.

Common Questions
Before You Sign Anything.
Do you pull the permits?
Yes. We file with your town’s building department and coordinate the inspections at each stage. You do not chase paperwork, and the job stays on the record where it belongs — which matters when you sell.
How long will my project take?
It depends on scope and on how fast the town issues permits. You get a phase-by-phase schedule with your estimate, and we tell you up front which items have long lead times — cabinets and windows are usually the ones that set the pace.
Can we stay in the house during the work?
Usually yes for a contained project like a kitchen, bath or addition. For a full gut it is rarely comfortable. We will give you a straight answer at the walkthrough rather than after demo starts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration #212825, and we carry liability insurance and workers’ compensation. We are glad to send current certificates before you sign.
How do payments work?
Payments are tied to completed phases, not to a calendar. The schedule is written into the contract before work starts, so you always know what has been paid for and what has not.
What if something is wrong at the end?
We do a final walkthrough with you and work from your punch list until it is done. The warranty is handed over in writing — if something we installed fails, call us.
